Movement Meditation

Created in 2022, this class was devised as an offering for an accessible community practice with the intention of quieting the mind and nurturing the body. MM is the amalgamation of Pranayama (Yogic breath-work,) basic Yoga asana, somatic movement for nervous-system regulation, and Qigong. While merging ancient methods of meditation, Pranayama, and Qigong with the viscerally creative benefits of intuitive movement, this contemporary practice invites individuals to deepen an inward connection through a gentle, embodied approach.

I believe— from my own experience— that cultivating a practice to listen and respond to the language of our bodies expands our capacity to ease and support our personal unfurling... whether it be in a quiet space, or with the fluctuating tasks of everyday rhythms.

Movement Meditation welcomes practitioners of all levels regardless of age, experience, or physical ability. It is a gentle practice that encourages self-affection, self-expression, and self-discovery, offering a safe and supportive environment for personal growth.
Emily offers MM classes with the Chicago Movement Collective. You can also follow @movementmeditation_ on Instagram for future group offerings, browse Emily’s Youtube for videos, or email directly via the Contact page for private sessions.

Whether you are seeking stress-relief, compassionate tools, or simply a new hobby, Movement Meditation can provide assistance for the continuous unfolding that already exists within you.
